Has there been a case a human got hurt because the product wasn't animal tested?

I am doing a debate on animal testing for cosmetics and I wanted to be against it but our teacher switched it up so I need a case where a person lose of hair or got a rash because a product wasn't tested on animalsHas there been a case a human got hurt because the product wasn't animal tested?
Lots of products were harmful before the government enacted the Food Drug and Cosmetics Act of 1938.

This law required that manufacturers show that their products were safe for people to use and not toxic when applied to their bodies.

I don't know of any specific cases cited of cosmetics that harmed people before the Act (but I'm sure there were some) but there were definitely tragic cases of medicines that were not thoroughly tested in animals, especially pregnant ones, before they were given to humans.

One thing you should know is that even though many cosmetics nowadays are not tested on animals in their final product form, most of the ingredients or chemicals in them have been tested on animals, either now or in the past.
